A comprehensive approach to the treatment of TMD, facial pain, and bruxism.

One&Only Clinic is among the few dental centers in the world offering such an interdisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMD) dysfunctions and chronic facial pain.
Through close collaboration between specialists from multiple fields, we are able to effectively diagnose and treat even the most complex cases.

We are equipped with advanced imaging diagnostics, including CBCT tomography with an extended field of view for the TMJ area, allowing for detailed bone structure assessment and early detection of subtle pathological changes. In chronic pain therapy, we also employ medical hypnosis, a globally recognized method that helps manage pain and improve patient comfort. Additionally, we design custom occlusal splints, which—when properly fitted and based on accurate diagnosis—are highly effective in preventing the negative effects of bruxism.

Our team includes:

  • Specialists performing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthrocentesis – carrying out minimally invasive procedures aimed at improving joint function and reducing pain.
  • Dr Łukasz Lassmann, DDS, PhD – an expert in temporomandibular joint disorders and occlusal reconstruction.
  • Prof. Malec-Milewska, MD – a renowned authority in chronic pain management, specializing in the treatment of facial and headache pain.
  • Osteopaths and dental physiotherapists – focusing on myofascial therapy and restoring functional balance within the masticatory and musculoskeletal systems.
  • Speech therapists – assisting patients in the treatment of speech and tongue function disorders related to temporomandibular dysfunction.
  • Doctors specialized in intra-articular injections – using regenerative therapies such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, and botulinum toxin to support joint recovery.

Consultations and Patient Qualification

Before scheduling the first visit, each patient undergoes an initial qualification process, based on specialized questionnaires completed prior to the appointment. These forms are analyzed by Dr Łukasz Lassmann, who then determines the appropriate treatment pathway and type of consultation required. Full interdisciplinary team consultations take place once a month, on selected Fridays, when all specialists are present on site. On other days, individual consultations are conducted by Dr Lassmann, who personally evaluates each case and plans the next steps of therapy. This structure ensures that every patient receives personalized, well-coordinated, and effective care, precisely tailored to their needs.

Bruxism

Bruxism is the involuntary and excessive clenching or grinding of the teeth, most commonly occurring at night, although it can also appear during the day. While it may seem harmless at first, over time it can lead to serious health issues such as enamel wear, tooth fractures, jaw muscle pain, headaches, and even temporomandibular joint (TMD) disorders.

Bruxism is often associated with stress, emotional tension, and sleep disturbances such as sleep apnea. At One&Only Clinic, we approach bruxism comprehensively — not only diagnosing the condition but also analyzing its underlying causes and creating a personalized treatment plan. Our therapy combines relaxation splints, dental physiotherapy, botulinum toxin treatment, and neurologopedic support to achieve long-lasting relief and balance.

If you notice tooth wear, frequent headaches, or tension in your facial muscles, it may be time to schedule a consultation. The earlier the treatment begins, the easier it is to prevent further complications.

Relaxation Splints

At One&Only Clinic, we offer exclusive three-part relaxation splints as an effective method of preventing the effects of bruxism. These thin, transparent aligners are made based on a digital scan or impression and are typically worn at night. They act as a protective barrier between the upper and lower teeth, preventing tooth wear and reducing the effects of jaw clenching. Regular use of the splint helps reduce muscle tension in the jaw, relieve pressure on the temporomandibular joint, restore proper jaw alignment, and alleviate pain in the face, head, and neck.

Our team performs a thorough diagnostic assessment to select the type of splint best suited to each patient’s individual needs. We use advanced digital technology and the highest quality materials to ensure maximum comfort and therapeutic effectiveness.

If you wake up with headaches, jaw tension, or notice signs of tooth wear, it may be a sign that a relaxation splint is the perfect solution for you.

Botulinum Toxin and Tropocollagen

Bruxism, or the excessive clenching and grinding of teeth, is an increasingly common condition that can lead to chronic facial and jaw pain, tooth wear, as well as headaches and neck tension. One of the most modern and effective treatment methods involves the use of botulinum toxin (Botox) and tropocollagen.

Botulinum toxin works by relaxing overactive masticatory muscles, mainly the masseter and temporalis. As a result, the clenching force is reduced, pain subsides, and daily comfort improves. The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and produces noticeable results within just a few days. Tropocollagen is a therapeutic substance that supports tissue regeneration and reduces inflammation within muscles and joints. It improves elasticity, promotes protein structure repair, and enhances the overall therapeutic effects of Botox.

Together, these treatments form an effective, non-surgical solution for reducing pain, protecting the temporomandibular joints, and restoring muscle balance.

Dental Physiotherapy

At One&Only Clinic, we offer specialized dental physiotherapy that supports both the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, muscle tension, bruxism, and difficulties with jaw movement. Our experienced team of physiotherapists and an osteopath use carefully selected manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modern supportive methods to achieve optimal results.

We work in close interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive care addressing not only the masticatory system but also the entire musculoskeletal structure. This holistic approach helps restore balance, reduce pain, and improve the overall comfort and function of the jaw.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis in dentistry is a natural and non-invasive method that supports patients who experience fear, stress, or trauma related to dental treatment. It is also used for individuals with high sensitivity to stimuli, a strong gag reflex, difficulty maintaining position during treatment, or for children with sensory challenges.

During a hypnotherapy session, the patient is guided into a state of deep relaxation and focused attention. This is not sleep but a natural, calm state of concentration in which the mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and the body deeply relaxes. The patient remains fully conscious and in control, yet detached from unpleasant sensations and tension.

The use of hypnosis can significantly reduce stress, enhance psychological comfort, and make treatment a calmer and more positive experience. It also helps reduce pain perception, improves cooperation with the dental team, and can decrease the need for pharmacological sedatives.

At One&Only Clinic, hypnosis sessions are conducted by qualified hypnotherapy specialists who ensure emotional safety and comfort throughout the process. We believe that dental treatment can take place in an atmosphere of peace, trust, and relaxation — and hypnosis allows us to make that possible.

Sleep Medicine

Following precise diagnostics at One&Only Clinic, we provide effective and personalized therapeutic solutions. Mandibular Advancement Devices (MAD) are custom-made oral appliances that gently reposition the lower jaw, preventing airway collapse and eliminating apnea episodes. This method offers a comfortable and effective alternative to CPAP therapy, especially for patients with mild to moderate apnea caused by upper airway narrowing.

Our diagnostic process includes home sleep polygraphy, a non-invasive test performed in the comfort of the patient’s home that evaluates the severity of apnea, oxygen saturation levels, and the frequency of apnea episodes. We also perform DISE (Drug-Induced Sleep Endoscopy), a specialized examination carried out under medical supervision that enables precise assessment of airway collapse during sleep. This allows us to select the most effective, anatomy-based therapy for each patient.
